Video is a powerful storytelling tool that connects the viewer with the people and the programs that make our schools work. I have been fortunate to work with very talented videographers and editors throughout my career to produce videos that matter. I've also shot, edited and produced videos on my own.

Walking the Path with Wakeley
Walking the path between the north and south buildings is a unique experience for Homewood-Flossmoor High School students. It’s a beautiful setting for students to talk with friends, contemplate their upcoming classes, and make plans for after-school activities and sports. Each month, Superintendent Dr. Scott Wakeley walks the path with a member of our school community to learn about their Viking voyage and how the competencies of the Profile of a Viking are evident in their lives. I produce these national- and state-award winning videos with the assistance of department staff and students who record and edit.
Viking Profile
The Viking Profile video series showcases how the core competencies of the Profile of a Viking come to life in the classroom, on the athletic field, and through clubs and activities. Each video focuses on one competency.The videos include a diverse representation of students and staff.

The Profile of a Viking was established through a collaborative process including staff, students and community to define the core competencies we want for every Viking. It is central to the school district’s strategic plan. A communication survey showed that students and staff were seeking tangible examples of how these competencies are expressed through the school experience. The national award winning Viking Profile video series was created to meet that stakeholder desire.
The Voyage
The Voyage video series gives you a first-class ticket to the HF experience. Created in collaboration with the Department of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, these videos highlight ways the school strives to create a sense of belonging for the diverse student body and the equity journey each member of our community is on.

Each month, I worked with the Digital Media Coordinator, Assistant Superintendents and Principals to showcase key educational initiatives through these videos.
